THE VASQUE KING or QUEEN OF THE MOUNTAIN IN 2008!
Starting in 2006, the ENVIRO-VENTURE TRAIL SERIES became a bonafide annual points competition, complete with prizes and all-important bragging rights for the top finishers.
YOU'RE ALREADY IN THE RUNNING! Every ENVIRO-SPORTS trail run participant is automatically entered in the VASQUE points series. And every runner starts racking up points from the first finish line crossed - regardless of how he or she places! That's right, you'll get points just for finishing - whether your first, last or in the middle of the pack
EARNING POINTS IS AS EASY AS RUNNING MILES The first way to accrue points is simply by running - and completing - any ENVIRO-SPORTS trail run. Runners earn one point for every mile of a completed race. That is, a 10K will earn you 6.2 points while a Marathon will put 26.2 points in your bank. DNFs will not earn a runner partial points for miles completed before dropping out of a race. Runners will only receive points for completed races.
Compound points are earned when a runner places top-three in his or her age group. A third place finish, for example, will net a runner one extra point per mile (i.e. a total of 12.4 points for a 10K distance). Second place earns two extra points per mile and first place gets three extra points per mile.
REAPING THE REWARDS The male and female winners of the 2008 VASQUE King/Queen of the Mountain Series will be announced here on the ENVIRO-SPORTS website on December 19th. As the winner of the 2008 Series, the most obvious reward is being able to beat your chest and proclaim that you are the King or Queen of the Mountain. Of course, the title is always a little sweeter when accompanied by gifts and prizes.

And for a lasting memory of their accomplishment, the King and Queen of the 2008 series will also receive a commemorative plaque engraved with their name as the 2008 VASQUE Enviro-Venture Title Series winner.
