Napa Valley Sprint Triathlon
Course Cutoff Times
The following cutoff times are cumulative from the start of the last swim wave:
- SWIM: 25 minutes
If
our swim staff determines that you are not on pace to complete the swim
in time to meet the cutoff, you will be picked up by a boat and brought
to shore. You will be allowed to continue with the bike and run, but
you will not be eligible for awards. - BIKE: 2 hours
If
our bike course staff determines that you are not on pace to complete
the bike within the allotted time frame, you will be either be picked
up by a SAG vehicle and transported to the transition/finish area, or
you will be instructed to turn around early to shorten your bike
distance and allow you to make the cutoff. You will be allowed to
continue in the event, but you will not be eligible for awards. - RUN: 3 hours
If
course officials determine that you are not on pace to make the 3 hour
course cutoff, you will be instructed to turn around early. Even though
you will not be eligible for awards, you may still cross the finish
line and you are entitled to a finisher's medal and T-shirt.
Course cutoffs are determined with respect to the parameters
outlined in our special event permits and police contracts for this event. These cutoffs are NOT
optional. It is not the individual athlete's prerogative to continue
because he or she is determined to complete the entire course. As a
participant in this event, you are subject to the conditions outlined
in our permits and must comply with all directions given by race staff
and volunteers. Failure to comply will result in disqualification from the event!
