Sharks in Minneapolis? Let’s
not forget “Minnesota Fats” the original “pool shark”.
The Minneapolis Sharkfest Swim will consist of a 1 mile swim from the
North Calhoun Beach to Thomas Beach at the south end of the lake.
Lake Calhoun, a 40-acre lake, is the largest lake in the Minneapolis
“Chain of Lakes”. It is surrounded by the communities of Minneapolis
and the mid-August water temperature should be in the mid-70's. The
swim finish will offer a “photo finish” with the beautiful Minneapolis
skyline in the background. Unlike many other Sharkfest swims,
there will be no tidal currents to worry about in this spectacular lake
swim. (Photo: Minneapolis skyline from the swim finish at Thomas Beach)
