Romancing the Island 12K & 25Kô ENTRANT LETTER
Congratulations on your entry in this enchanting 25th annual trail run on Angel Island, scheduled for Saturday, March 8, 2014. This 12K course loops high up on the
island (25K does the 12K loop twice) offering spectacular 360-degree views of the Golden Gate and Bay bridges with the dramatic San Francisco skyline stretched between.
RACE DAY DETAILS
- Athlete Check-In &
Registration will be held from
7:00-7:45am at the Angel Island ferry dock, located on Main Street in
downtown Tiburon. See directions below. (If youíre pre-registered
and have brought your bib number, thereís no need to check-in; youíre ready
- Safety pins and course
maps will be available during Athlete Check-In.
- Our chartered ferry
departs from the Tiburon dock at 8:00am for Angel Island; miss this
ferry, miss this event.
- There will be a
designated area to leave your personal items during the event.
- The only aid
station will be at the start/finish area; there is no access to the remote
areas of the island, so we highly recommend that you carry water.
- 25K runners will pass
the aid station near the 12K finish before embarking on the second loop.†25Kers must complete first loop in 1:35.
- 25K runners: Please be
sure that we have recorded your bib number before starting your second loop.
- NO HEADPHONES!
Runners wearing headphones will be disqualified.
An $15-park admission/ferry fee was included in your entry fee. Your non-running friends and family members
are welcome to join us on Angel Island $15 Adults & Seniors (ages 13 and over),
$12 Children (ages 6 - 12), $5 Small Children (ages 3 - 5), Free Toddlers (ages
2 and under), $1 per Bike. Non-runners may pay us these fees during Athlete
Check-in at the Tiburon ferry dock.
Donít forget to pack the cooler to take advantage of the picnic area at Ayala Cove after your run! Or,
take a tour of the museum and the historical sites of Angel Island. Ferries
return to Tiburon every hour at 20 minutes past the hour.
From Hwy. 101 in Marin
County, take the Hwy. 131/Tiburon Blvd. exit. Follow Tiburon Blvd. into downtown
Tiburon. Turn right on Main St. and the Angel Island Ferry dock will be on your
left. There are parking lots along Tiburon Blvd. for the Angel Island Ferry as
well as another pay lot behind the bank. The lots charge between $5 and $10 for
all-day parking. (Parking gets more expensive the closer you get to the dock).
