|Lake Berryessa provides a gorgeous venue for this triathlon. This is the estrogen-powered version of the popular Napa Valley Sprint Triathlon held each May. Now in its seventh year, our all-women's triathlon has fast become a favorite for first-timers as well as seasoned triathletes looking for a fun, supportive atmosphere! The sprint event entails a 500 yard swim, 11-mile bike and 3-mile run. You'll begin your race following a 500 yard triangular swim course in Lake Berryessa at Putah Canyon Recreation Area (formerly known as Chaparral Cove or Putah Creek). With water temperatures in Lake Berryessa hovering in the mid-60s to mid-70s, wetsuits are allowed, but not mandatory. Next, jump on your bike for an out-and-back 11-mile spin along the rolling hills surrounding Lake Berryessa. Finally, you'll find your running legs as you head out for the out-and-back 3-mile course over rolling terrain. The event is limited to 700 participants and sells out months in advance so don't wait too long to register!
PLEASE NOTE: This event has been on a Saturday in the past, but in 2013, it will be on a SUNDAY.

is available at Putah Canyon Recreation Area (formerly known as Chaparral Cove or Putah Creek). If you are driving in race day morning, be sure to allow plenty of time. Some of the roads leading to Putah Canyon Recreation Area are slow and winding; plus, there will be additional traffic due to the athletes coming to this event. (Lake Berryessa is AT LEAST a 1.5 hour drive from San Francisco)
*No aid stations during the bike leg; please carry water bottles.
*One aid station along the out-and-back run course at
the 1.5 mile turnaround point; it is still highly recommended that you
carry water with you.
*Wetsuits are allowed, but not mandatory.
* Start/Finish and all transitions are at Putah Canyon Recreation Area (formerly known as Chaparral Cove or Putah Creek).
*Air temperatures range from the low-60s to low-90s.
*And last, but not least, absolutely NO AUDIO devices (ipods, mp3, anything with headphones) allowed. You will be disqualified if found or reported wearing any audio device. We want to have a safe race.
